Oliphantskop have been entertaining guests with spectacular horseback rides for 22 years, only to become better at what we do and setting higher standards for our rides every year!

During the good year of 2011, our rides have progressed from not only relaxed 1 hour scenic rides in Langebaan, but we are now also offering 2-3 hour Eco Rides in Saldanha Bay. Where we enjoy a great ride along the beach into the Saldanha Bay Nature Reserve, a magical landscape to experience on horseback!

The Eco rides are especially for the advanced riders who are looking for the ideal way to experience 74,000 acres of untouched natural beauty, listening to the waves as they crash on shore, inhaling only pure crystal fresh air while our spirits roam free with the sound of hooves beating in the same excited rhythm of your wild hearts!

Just speaking of this experience makes me want get on my horse and do it all over again!!

Every Eco Ride turns into an adventures horse ride where exploring this beautiful scenery is the key to enjoy the experience! “Do we take the next left or shall we see if we can spot a Springbuck on the right?” – This is one of the very hard decisions to be made during the ride…

For every personality there is without a doubt some part of the ride which will be kept close to the heart as one amazing memory! It is not every day that you can be part of such a truly blessed experience! And to make the opportunity even more memorable, you can do all this with your own horse!! If you are not yet a horse owner, we have eight extraordinary professionally trained horses to guide you into this magical experience, giving you the ultimate outing!

The Langebaan Beginner 1 hour ride shows you a magnificent view of our clear coast line and the mysteries of our local granite quarries. Our horses are trained to show inexperienced riders the joy of a great first experience! We often see the gorgeous Black Eagle souring over us, the Leopard Tortoises often gives us a break as we wait for them to cross the road, even the delicate Steenbokkies show themselves on a regular basis. Not only do we have the privilege to see all these animals, but we are surrounded by blankets of the famous Wild Flowers, known for their superior beauty!

Oliphantskop Horse Trails.

Oliphantskop offers magical scenic rides over the highest Koppie in Langebaan, giving you the perfect opportunity to explore the Western Cape's precious Fauna & Flora.  Also have the opportunity to see our majestic Black Eagles soaring over the old Granite Quarries in the Langebaan Bird Reserve. We offer 1 hour rides in Langebaan for beginner and advanced riders of all ages at a small cost of R180 - R200 per person.

For advanced riders and horse owners we offer a 2 hour Eco ride in Saldanha Bay. Here you get the opportunity to ride on the beautiful Saldanha beach and explore the Saldanha Nature Reserve. Horse owners are welcome to live out this experience with their own horses or very well trained Polo horses. For as little as R380 - R500 per person.

If you are interested in equestrian events, we will also be hosting equestrian events such as Polo, Polocrosse, Gymkhana, Jumping etc. These events will be facilitated at the Saldanha Equestrian Defence Centre.

Rides depart daily at the following times: 09:30, 11:00, 14:30 and 16:00.
